Good Afternoon Kildeer Families!

Hello Summer Break! We made it! Today is our last edition of the Principal’s Message for the 2023-2024 school year. As we wrap up this incredible school year, I want to take a moment to celebrate all that we have accomplished together. It has been a WONDERful journey filled with growth, learning, and unforgettable memories.

As we wish our 5th graders the best as they prepare for middle school, we’re excited to bring a brand new group of students to first grade next year!

Have a WONDERful summer and enJOY the adventure it brings you!

Mrs. Karen Cumpata

NEW *Teacher and Class Assignment*

The 2024-2025 school year’s class assignment will be shared with you in August.

NEW *Summer Reading*

As summer approaches, we encourage you to help your children dive into the joy of reading. Research consistently shows that children who read at least four books over the summer are better prepared for the upcoming school year and avoid the "summer slide"—a decline in reading skills that can occur during the break. Whether your child is an eager reader or a reluctant one, summer offers a unique opportunity to explore new worlds through books and foster a lifelong love of reading.

Our curated summer reading lists include a variety of genres from generational classics to new releases in dystopian, science fiction, historical fiction, and nonfiction, ensuring there's something for every reader.

  • Summer reading lists for all Early Childhood- 5th grade students have been updated on our website. Click HERE for the link to the website directly.

  • Additionally, all current 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students are required to complete a summer reading assignment for Middle School. Click HERE for this assignment.

Happy Reading!
