Kick off your Star-Spangled celebrations with a patriotic concert honoring Veterans with Lake Oswego's ownMillennium Concert Band(link is external). The audience is entertained with arrangements that include both military and marching compositions. The evening performance includes the Presentation of Colors by the Lake Oswego Honor Guard and a remarkable tribute to those who served.

Parade Staging at 8:30am, Parade begins at 10am
Celebration continues until 1pm at Millennium Plaza Park

This 4th of July don your patriotic colors, decorate your wagons and join friends and neighbors for the annual Star Spangled Parade. Delight in festive floats, musical entertainment, vibrant vehicles and costumed canines as they march down A Avenue to Millennium Plaza Park via Second Street. The parade features Lake Oswego’s Fire engine, an authentic Fife & Drum Band, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, classic cars and more! Then, continue the celebration at Millennium Plaza Park with live music fromBon Bon Vivant(link is external), National Anthem performed byOregon SenateAires(link is external), a pie eating contest and more! The celebration features food and drink from local restaurants too.

PARADE REGISTRATION:All participating vehicles, floats and large groups are required to complete a registration form. Parade registration fee is $25 for nonprofits and families; $50 for businesses. The application is available to completeHERE. Please be sure to read all the rules & requirements for participation.

PARADE STAGING:Staging taking place between8:30-9:30amat Lake Garden Court (off Iron Mountain Blvd.). All parade participants, including vehicles and floats, must enter the parade staging area via County Club Road. Police will be assisting with entry. Participants may turn left or right from Country Club to enter. Exit will be via Chandler Road.

PARADE ROUTE:Parade staging takes place off Lake Garden Court and then travels to Chandler and 10th Street onto A Avenue. The route then proceeds onto Second Street to Millennium Plaza Park. Parade map is attached for reference.

PARKING:Parking for parade staging is available at Christ Church Parish (1060 Chandler Road). Parking for parade viewing and celebration is available at City Hall (380 A Avenue), Public Parking lot at State Street between between A & B Avenues and Public Parking lot at State Street and Foothills Road. Access to the parking garages on First Street at Lake View Village and the Windward will be closed briefly for safety during the parade hours from 9:30am-approximately 11am.

CANDY:Candy cannot be tossed or thrown from vehicles. Candy must be gently tossed by walkers alongside the vehicle, so that it lands in front of spectators and away from the path of vehicles. Please do not have young children throw candy that will not reach the curb. Please consider tossing candy that will not melt and is not a choking hazard for little ones.

STAR SPANGLED CELEBRATION(10:30am-1pm):Numerous festivities take place at Millennium Plaza Park after the conclusion of the parade, including:

PIE EATING CONTEST:Celebrate the USA with Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation's annual Pie Eating Contest. Commemorate our country's independence by racing to complete an "All-American" Pie. Contest participants must be 18 years or older to enter. Register onsite at11am(after the Star Spangled Parade).Contest begins at noon.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS & ROAD CLOSURES:There are several road closures and traffic impacts as a result of the parade and staging site.

Second Street between A Avenue & Evergreen Road, both east and west
Evergreen Road from 1st thru 4th Streets, both north and south
Iron Mtn Road between Chandler & Country Club, both east and west
Country Club between 10th and Iron Mt. Blvd., both north & south

Bon Bon Vivant(link is external)is a genre bending band from New Orleans that pull from pop, Americana, dark ballads, and up-tempo indie dance music. Bon Bon Vivant’s original music is rooted in storytelling and pays honor to a uniquely New Orleans sound while infusing an indie flavor that leaves a lasting mark on listeners. This band's songs are joyous, fierce, honest, and heartbreaking as they chronicle life and all it entails through the sounds of the minor keys. Bon Bon Vivant is made up of songwriter/front-woman Abigail Cosio, saxophonist/vocalist Jeremy Kelley on sousaphone, Jason Jurzak on bass, and drums and percussion by Deacon Marrquin. Bon Bon Vivant is one of the highlighted acts in the New Orleans music scene awarded Best Emerging Artist of 2018 by Off Beat Magazine. Bon Bon Vivant plays regularly in New Orleans with upcoming appearances at French Quarter Fest, Jazz Fest, and Bayou Boogaloo as well as touring regularly spreading the gospel of decadence, reverence and revelry with their infectious live shows.

The fun of the 4th of July continues with a concert fromKalimba: The Spirit of Earth Wind & Fire(link is external), the best tribute to Earth Wind and Fire in the country, and closes with a laser light show, a spectacular display of lights in the sky. The remarkable and unique display will enchant people of all ages. Lasers take flight at approximately 10:15pm. Bring your blankets, pillows and low sand chairs and save a spot for your friends and family.

VENDORS:a full list of food and art vendors will be updated once selections are made.

Kalimba: The Spirit of Earth Wind & Fire(link is external)is considered by some the best tribute to Earth Wind and Fire in the country. Based out of the Pacific Northwest, Kalimba has been together since 2011 spawning from the dream of lead vocalist, Thomas “Chazz” Smith, who started Kalimba with the vision of playing the music that he listened to growing up. Kalimba has evolved from there to become a 11 piece R&B group with full horn section and excellent live energy. Performing the hits including but not limited to, Shining Star, That's the Way of the World, Devotion, Sing a Song, Can't Hide Love, Getaway, Fantasy, Love's Holiday, September, Boogie Wonderland, After the Love Has Gone, and Let's Groove just to name a few. Kalimba performs across the country at casinos, state fairs, and some of the country’s most prestigious jazz clubs. Kalimba is a treat for the eyes and ears, and has a true passion for the music. They are on a mission spreading the message of Earth Wind and Fire to the masses.
